The Project Éclat
Giving every child a chance to shine; introducing The Project Éclat! 🌟✨
Hello everyone! We are The Project Éclat, a student-run initiative aiming to improve the lives of people with special needs! Today, we will be sharing more about our project and what you can expect from us in the future.
Who are we?
The Project Éclat consists of 4 core members, Wee Chia (head of welfare), Vivienne (head of design), Kia Ying (head of admin) and Mirella (head of publicity), who spearhead this project. In total, there are 57 members inside this close-knitted team! 💪
We are split into 4 major committees: admin, publicity, welfare and design! Each committee is specialised to take on certain tasks and collaborate with each other to run initiatives. With this four-pronged approach, we hope to manage our initiatives with better efficiency and make a difference more effectively.
What is our cause?
We believe that every child deserves a nurturing and supportive environment to grow up in, and our goal is to give these children a chance to shine 🌟regardless of the difficulties they face and the circumstances they are in.
What is our aim?
Firstly, we aim to spread awareness about common disabilities faced by children in Singapore and how the public can better help these children integrate into society. Secondly, we aim to raise funds for Rainbow Centre’s new campus, in order to provide their students with a more conducive learning environment!
The meaning behind Éclat?
Fun fact: ‘éclat’ means ‘shine’ 🌟 in French! As such, we hope that our project is able to effectively raise awareness about disabilities and raise funds to support children with disabilities, thus helping each child to shine and reach their full potential! ☀️
Our beneficiary: Rainbow centre 🌈

They provide support and care for people with disabilities all around Singapore. Creating an inclusive and understanding environment for these people. They are strongly committed to enhancing their quality of life through many curated programmes and other methods:

Advocating and engaging external partners and the public to co-create an inclusive and harmonious society
Rainbow Centre also operates special education schools in Singapore such as Margaret Drive School (RCMDS) and Yishun Park School (RCYPS) for infants, children and youths with special needs like autism, intellectual disability, developmental delay, and multiple disabilities. Officially registered as a charity in 1992, Rainbow Centre is an Institution of a Public Character. Solely focused on improving the lives of people with disabilities, Rainbow Centre is an admirable organisation that we are excited to work with!

Current initiatives:
As of now, we are raising funds for Rainbow Centre’s new campus. To support Rainbow Centre’s Building for Community Initiative, we have set up a fundraising page! To cater to the growing demand for special education programmes in Singapore, Rainbow Centre is currently raising $5 million to build their third campus at 21 Admiralty Hill, to be completed in 2022. This new campus will serve 300 students with autism, aged 7 to 18, and will provide a conducive environment for learning and inclusion in the community with its “social town” concept. Hence, we would like to emphasise that this fundraiser is not just for building a new campus, but building for the community as a whole. We appreciate every donation, no matter how big or how small!
